Both Graceland School, Ndola & Scoil san Treasa (St Therese’s School), Mount Merrion, Co. Dublin, Ireland, agreed to ‘twin’ together so that the pupils in the equivalent final Primary Grades Classes could exchange information of interest with each other. Thus teachers and pupils in Grade 7 in Zambia & Rang (Rang=’Grade’ in the Irish Language) 6 in Ireland linked together by post and email until the end of 2012.
The twinning resulted in great individual exploration and the exchange of material including group and individual Christmas and other card writing with commentary and questioning about life and studies. Photographs, recorded class songs on tape and video based computer disc material have also been sent in both directions and supported briefings in both schools. Both schools also made and erected wall plaques to publicly represent their relationship.
