Grade 8 Pupils Enrolled 2012
Graceland School has recruited four additional teachers and has enrolled its first cohort of 34 Grade 8 pupils for the educational year 2012.
The Ministry approval for expansion beyond Basic School follows-on from a final detailed Joint Inspection from District and Provincial Teams of Ministry representatives on 2nd Sep. 2011. They were very satisfied with the academic performance of the school up to Grade 7 and with the facilities, equipment and teaching resources available for expansion. It means that the Community and School’s commitment in building new classrooms and facilities to accommodate the expansion have been rewarded. Importantly, for the pupils and their families the development means that the pupils can continue their education in a convenient local and quality setting. The Directors wish to express their deep appreciation to all the parents for their invaluable support. The expansion has made 2012 a different and exciting year with new challenges of all involved in the Graceland School initiative.
Pen Pal Linkage with Danish School

Laeso Island School, Denmark
Pupils at Graceland School have received an invitation to establish educational links with a school on a very small island called Laesoe off the N.E. coast of Denmark. Laesoe island is largely populated by lobster fishermen and mink farmers. The 180 pupils in the school (Grades 0 -9) are taught Danish, English and German. Mrs. Susanne Springborg the school’s dedicated English Teacher wished to have her 20 pupils in Grade 6 corresponding in English with their peers in Graceland School. Mrs. Springborg has very positive memories of her time in Zambia, when she was teaching in Monze. Graceland school has reacted positively to this exciting prospect for their students. Initial contact was made via the Graceland school web site.
Update: Lists of the pupils have been exchanged and in both schools the respective pupils have prepared and sent descriptions of themselves, their views about everyday life, pets, family, and their favourite interests.
